when the lights go out lyrics

Jimmy, Jimmy,
where have you been? We had a date.
It's four am and you're
five hours late again.
Jimmy said he had a feeling tonight...
He couldn't go to sleep,
it was getting light...
Drank some coffee and I got a buzz,
so I got myself a fifth with a friend.

And then the lights go out, and
he said it'll be the same as yesterday,
Hey-hey.
When the lights go out,
it'll be the same,
Hey-hey.

Simi Valley, where the hell is that?
When I woke up, I swore I'd quit,
no more, no more, I swore I swore.

And then the lights go out, and
he said it'll be the same as yesterday,
Hey-hey.
When the lights go out,
it'll be the same,
Hey-hey.

I slept with the door unlocked
when I left her...
I thought she might come back,
even though I knew her
better than that,
and I was better off, I did it anyway....
I'd wake and hear her voice decay
into police sirens far away.
Jimmy said he had a feeling tonight...
He couldn't go to sleep,
it was getting light...
And then the lights go out...
