when 2000 comes lyrics

Oh, I know that life is hard enough
For you to live without me
You deserve to get all the things
That you give to me

You see, I'm tryin' to figure out what I need
I'm tired of makin' your heart bleed
Let's face it some people just aren't cut out for this

I've never felt a love deeper
But this mountain just, it get's steeper
You know what I can't give, but I can commit to this

When 2000 comes, I'll be ready then for you
I'll be ready for the sweet love you had in mind
When 2000 comes, I'll be waiting here for you
I'll be waiting with a sky full of space and time for you

I'm an ordinary girl with a screwed up mind
You know the kind
Condescending words aren't my way
I'm just trying to find an answer for you

You see, somebody else is going to love you
You see that I only need you
There's somethin' twisted here that's stranger than fate

And they say the world will get better
Without you, hey, what would it matter
I don't need to hear no new age crap about love

When 2000 comes, I'll be ready then for you
I'll be ready for the sweet love you had in mind
When 2000 comes, I'll be waiting here for you
I'll be waiting with a sky full of space and time for you

Before I walk away can you really say you're gonna miss me?
I'm gonna miss you, yeah
It's time to face the fact that were better off for now
Just let go

When 2000 comes, I'll be ready then for you
I'll be ready for the sweet love you had in mind
When 2000 comes I'll be waiting here for you
I'll be waiting with a sky full of space and time

When 2000 comes, I'll be ready then for you
I'll be ready for the sweet love you had in mind
When 2000 comes, I'll be waiting here for you
I'll be waiting with a sky full of space and time for you

Somebody else is going to love you
You see that I only need you
There's somethin' twisted here that's stranger than fate

And they say the world will get better
Without you hey what would it matter
I don't need to hear no new age crap about love

When 2000 comes
When 2000 comes
When 2000 comes
When 2000 comes
