Now, I've got a pepper mama
But she don't mean me no good
Now, I've got a pepper mama
She don't mean me no good
Now, you know she don't treat me
Like a woman should

Now, she mistreat me in the mo'nin
And she mistreat me late at night
She mistreat me in the mo'nin
She mistreat me late at night
Now ya know she's a mean woman
She won't treat no one right

Pepper mama, pepper mama
Why do you treat me so mean?
Pepper mama, pepper mama
Why do you treat me so mean?
You treat me just like
A man you never seen

'I'll take it lightly for me, now'

'Play it for Mr. McCoy, yas sir'

(guitar)

I'm gonna leave my pepper mama
She won't treat me good no mo'
I'm gonna leave my pepper mama
She won't treat me good no mo'
Now she have mistreat me
And drove me from her do'.
