Artist: face of anger
Song: strength to overcome
push back at the world around me
I've been the slave they made you see
I've been the one they wanted me to be
don't push me down
I've been the one that they held back on the ground
confused in a life that is so profound
I've been the one they wanted me to be
don't push me down
the strength to overcome me
the strength to rise again
I'm pushing away at the things inside
I'm running away but I cannot hide
I'm pushing away at the things inside
to overcome
the strength to overcome me
the strength to rise again
push back at the ones who held me down
break the chains that are cold and hold me bound
still lost in a maze that now surrounds
don't push me down
been the blind that they forced me to be
lost one in a world that's never free
filled with hate in all degrees
don't push me down
watch them drown in the fear that is now me
pay the piper, time to pay the fees
watch them burn on a cross they made for me
don't push me down
the strength to overcome me
the strength to rise again
I'm pushing away at the things inside
I'm running away but I cannot hide
I'm pushing away at the things inside
to overcome
the strength to overcome me
the strength to rise again
