last days of winter lyrics

He spent a fortune chasing dreams
In the springtime of his days
And when the seasons crawled
Summers passed to fall
And when they're gone it's gone for good

How long has he waited
To walk in the light?
The memory's faded
With his sight
As the last days of winter pass him by

See the old man
His withered mind
Built his fortress in the sand
And in a moment's time
Swept up by the tide
All his wealth slips through his hands

How long has he waited
To walk in the light?
His memory's faded
With his sight
His life has passed before his eyes
As the last days of winter pass him by

A fool and his money
Alone against the world
Living for glory in life
