Artist: The Icicle Works
Song: i never saw my hometown till i went around the world
I NEVER SAW MY HOMETOWN 'TIL I WENT ROUND THE WORLD
Ian McNabb
Love is like a razor when you're looking for a shave
Shed off all your dignity I'll race you to your grave
The driver's getting sentimental talking 'bout this girl
I never saw my hometown 'til I went round the world
Going up to Canada the record company
Are paying for the trip you know that all the drinks are free
She may just leave her lover for me it's getting quite absurd
I never saw my hometown 'til I went round the world
Tuesday night The Rain Parade come crashing in my room
Matt was stoned and Beggars phoned the chart position's gloom
You'd better call the embassy my hair is gonna curl
I never saw my hometown 'til I went round the world
Been awake for thirty hours I think I'm going down
With some habituary illness that's been going round this town
Dreaming of Waikiki where we know we felt like kings
But the reverie is slaughtered when the telephone rings
Pulling on a cigarette and scratching at my beard
Talking 'bout the folks at home this DJ thinks I'm weird
Crawl around the floor pick up the beer cans that you hurl
You saw your hometown 'til you went round the world
Love is like a razor when you're looking for a shave
Shed off all your dignity I'm gonna race you to your grave
Getting sentimental thinking 'bout a girl
I never saw my hometown 'til I went round the world, no
I never saw my hometown 'til I went round the world, no
I never saw my hometown 'til I went round the world
