Artist: mark olson
Song: diamond davey
CHORUS:
But God had a plan so he saved your Diamond Dave
He threw him a line
And he brought him back home
A chain link fence was sent by one who cares
And keeps His eyes on things
He landed right smack on a 20,000 acre lettuce patch
He had to walk back all soaking wet
REPEAT CHORUS
He wasn't the first and he won't be the last
There's no time for letters in a concrete riverbed
And a van came by when he was walking back
But they never did stop
They had some other business
Oh Diamond Davey sang in the choir on a summer's day
And I was there to hear him say
REPEAT CHORUS
Diamond Davey jumped into the California aqueduct
Into the river that man made
Into the river that man made
