Song: compass and companion
(Mark Erelli)
Out here on this road just after midnight
Silver sickle rising in the east
I'm steady on the wheel
But I know just how you feel
So just lean back and try to catch some sleep
CHORUS
Go to sleep my darling
There's just a fingernail moon up above
Go to sleep my darling
Am I the one you'll be dreaming of
To think of every backroad we have travelled
Of all the restless miles we have run
Should you chance to find a trace
Of a smile on my face
I'm just thinking of the miles we've still come
(CHORUS)
To me you are a compass and companion
You follow me down every road I ride
Wherever I may roam
I'm already home
As long as you are travelling by my side
(CHORUS)
